The new year
Wow, I am feeling humbled. I was asked by the Bishop on Sunday if I would be the new Primary President. I was basically floored. Just the other day, I was contemplating the fact that I had never served as a President of any organization in the Church. I wondered about that. I think now that the Lird was preparing me, and I didn't really listen with a Spiritual ear. That's a little push to listen for those promptings more often. Anyway, I said yes, so now I need to hit the ground running! While picking my ponderize scripture for this week, this one stood out to me.

Ponderize for Oct 12
15 ¶So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

Hanna
My thoughts this morning go to Hanna. It;s been 13 years today. I was checking my email and came across this quote from Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley, which says it all.
"The eternal nature of man has been revealed. We are sons and
daughters of God. God is the Father of our spirits. We lived before we came
here. We had personality. We were born into this life under a divine plan. We
are here to test our worthiness, acting in the agency which God has given to
us. When we die we shall go on living" ("The Great Things Which God
Has Revealed," Ensign,
May 2005).
We miss you sweetheart.

Ponderize your life!
During Conference this past weekend, we were chanllenged to Ponderize a Scripture a week by Elder Durrant. I really want to do this, so here's my scripture for the week of Oct 5.
My "Ponderize" scripture for the week: 2 Nephi 4:15
"And upon these I write the things of my soul, and many of the scriptures which are engraven upon the plates of brass. For my soul delighteth in the scriptures, and my heart pondereth them, and writeth them for the learning and the profit of my children."
What this was saying to me, is that I don't journal or blog enough of my spiritual feelings, and I really need to start. This is the scripture he used and I want to make it my own. I really felt the spirit so strongly during Conference. When they announced the new members of the Quorum of 12 Apostles, I felt good about the men called to fill the open positions from the deaths of Boyd, K. Packer, L. Tom Perry, and Richard G. Scott. This many at once hasn't happened since 1908, so it was pretty momentous. I even took the day off work, so I could watch and listen. I know these men are called of God to be the new Apostles!

Utah Shop Hop 2015
Last Thursday and Friday, I got the chance to go on a Shop Hop with my daughter and some friends! We had so much fun going from one quilting store to another across the state of Utah. I was entranced by how different each store was and the things each did with the theme of Quilts Over Broadway. Some did more then others, which was great. Each store had a different show to showcase. From Annie to Wizard of Oz. I loved it!

Day 30- Poetry Challenge-Credo Poem
I believe in the children of the world, the reality of making a difference, the people who are trying, the hope of a brighter future, the things I know that are true, real, right, and good.
But I don't believe in hating others for any reason.
I believe in love beyond the grave, I believe in living a life of meaning, I believe in showing love to others, butterflies, rainbows, and babies. And I believe in being the best me I can be each and every day.
But I don't believe in hating others for any reason.
I believe in love beyond the grave, I believe in living a life of meaning, I believe in showing love to others, butterflies, rainbows, and babies. And I believe in being the best me I can be each and every day.

Joyful
Life on this earth
Knowing the Plan of God
Is for eternal families
Our cup is full forever and ever
When our mortal life is ended
And we see our savior

Day 26-Poetry Challenge-Monorhyme
Having a flood in your basement is no fun
It makes it hard to get laundry done
I'm so glad we have a nearby good son
And he is our first-born, son number one
Now the search for a washer has begun
I hope that it won't weigh a ton!

I'm so glad we have a nearby good son
And he is our first-born, son number one
Now the search for a washer has begun
I hope that it won't weigh a ton!

Day 25-Poetry Challenge-Weather Poem
The weather lately is weird
It can't make up its mind
It doesn't help when one day
You're shoveling snow outside.
Then the next day is so warm
You don't need a coat
Then a few days later
We might need a boat!!j

We might need a boat!!j

Sadie our sweet rescue kitty
Sits in my chair,
In my sewing room,
Whenever I open the door,
She loves beating me to it.

Day 22-Poetry Challenge-Nature Color Poem
The Glory of Flowers
Purple pansies are so very sweet
They are even sometimes good to eat
Yellow nasturtium are pretty to see
Their color rivals the bumblebee
Poppies that are orange dot the hill
Their color gives me such a thrill
Red hibiscus where I grew up
Make me happy and fill my cup
Blue hydrangea are always breathtaking
Just like a pretty butterfly on the wing
Orchids of green have glory and elegance
Their color will make you want to dance
I glory in the colors that are all around
Our Father has provided for all earthbound
Purple pansies are so very sweet
They are even sometimes good to eat
Yellow nasturtium are pretty to see
Their color rivals the bumblebee
Poppies that are orange dot the hill

Day 21-Poetry Challenge-Couplet
I came up with three
Getting old is no fun
Aches and pains and then you're done.
My children are my greatest joy
Four gorgeous girls, three handsome boys
Nine grandchildren we can claim
They give us love each happy day.
Getting old is no fun
Aches and pains and then you're done.
My children are my greatest joy
Four gorgeous girls, three handsome boys
Nine grandchildren we can claim
They give us love each happy day.

Day 18- Poetry Challenge-I Remember
I remember my heart surgery
I remember my visits to the doctors
I remember getting tired and saying, "Daddy, pick me up!"
I remember having X-Rays and how nasty the barium solution was
I remember going to the hospital
I remember wearing the hospital gown
I remember being wheeled on a gurney
I remember seeing the ice bath
I remember looking up at the lights
I remember counting down
I remember the smell of the oxygen mask
I remember being asked to wake up
I remember wanting to sit in a chair
I remember my daddy asking me, "Do you still love me?"
I remember saying, "Yes, Daddy!"
I remember lots of shots and the other children in the Ward
I remember finally going home and showing off my stitches
I remember all the get well cards from my friends at school.

Day 17- Poetry Challenge-Book Spine Poetry
When you are happy
Bullies never win
Little Smudge
Ninja boy goes to school
I'm bored
Ten thank you letters
Queen of Easter
The mouse who are the moon
Toads on toast
Rhyming Dust Bunnies
All kinds of kisses
Road work ahead
Smile
Monster hug
The talent show
About a bear
Princess fairy
Pinkalicious
Let it rain
Do like a duck does

Day 14-Poetry Challenge-All About Me
Vicki
Serving, loving, creative, happy
Sibling of Dolly, David, Valerie, and Jamie
Lover of all the world around her
Fears that she sometimes does the wrong thing
Needs to be loved and understood
Gives all of her heart
Would like to see her children and grandchildren every day
Resident of this good earth

Reading and Poetry
Day 12-Poetry Challenge
D.E.A.R
Drop Everything And Read Day
Working in a library is so much fun
I have access to so many books
There's books for children
And books for teens
There's books for adults
And books for Tweens
I have read so many books,
But there's so many more
I don't know how I could pick one
I have a pile on the floor
So this poem is about all books
Because everyone needs to read
We can learn about life
And things that we need
So come to the library
It's waiting for you
It has so much to offer
And lots to do.

She like to write, blog, and tweet
She keeps me on my feet.

Day 9- Poetry Challenge-Nonet
Rain
Rain on the rooftop is lovely
It's part of the promise of Spring
It waters the plants and trees
And freshens this old world
To give us sweet joy
And give us hope
Our God lives
He loves
Us
Wednesday, April 08, 2015
Day 8-Poetry Challenge-Octopoem
We'd go up in the mountains so green
In the glorious days of summer
And gather together at Girls Camp!
Where it would always rain
We'd go hiking in blister-making boots
Then come back and sit on logs by the fire
And think of Man From U.N.C.L.E.
While we roasted warshmallows for S'mores.

Day 7 Poetry Challenge- Free Verse
In my life
There have been many pets
We've loved and lost a lot
But that's the way it is
For a pet owner
It's like any kind of love
Whatever you put out
Comes back to you
Pets love us un conditionally
Just like our Heavenly Father
Is it any wonder that
Dog is God spelled backwards
I am grateful for all the animals
Who've been part of my life
And I wouldn't have it any other way!

All are saved in Him
The Savior of the World
On the beautiful Easter morn

Nothing is so wonderful
Thankfully I praise Him

I wish, but I am
I wish I could write a quick poem
Like some of my friends seem to do
And I dream that I could be published
I am not sure that will come true
I used to think I couldn't do it
But now I see that I can
I seem to have overcome my anguish
But I'm really excited to plan.

This is me! Poem challenge day 1
Yes, that's me
Look and you'll see
My hair is long
My eyes are green
My arms are full of those I love
My hands are busy
My heart is brimming
I'm happy and free
I never think bad of others I see
My friends are forever
I live in joy
I hope I can always help others
I dream of eternity
It's all clear as can be
That's positively, absolutely Me.
