Day Thirty
Day Thirty-The End
Poetry Is For Me
My Tribute to National Poetry Month
The learning has been fun,
It’s challenged my brain
I’ve learned I can do it,
I don’t need to refrain
We’ve done Bios and Ciquains,
Synonyms, Antonyms, and Richtameter
Who, What, Where, When, and Why poems
We now think in Iambic Pentameter
Penses Poems we did, are the Bomb!
Credos and Tankas, and of course Haiku
Shadowrama, Octopoems, made me work
Senses and What if/I Might; I can do
We’ve dealt with Five Lines,
And then Nonets, and even a Triplet
How about Couplets and Tyburns
Windspark, and Poem in My Pocket
For me Rhyme Royal reigned Supreme
Acrostics and Free Verse were great
It You Were and Tetractys, and then
Diatelle poems kept us up late
So whether in Terse Verse
We claimed our soul’s styles
We did our very best
To meet Stephanie’s trials
Stephanie’s our fearless leader
These past seven years
For without her guidance
We’d all be in tears!
Thanks Stephanie Peterson Abney for all your hard work!!

Day Twenty-Nine
Day 29-Bio Poem
Known as Vicki, Gicki, Victoria, Tori, Mom, and Grandma
Who is creative, happy, and loving
Who enjoys being useful, creating things, using her talents, and loving God
Who is able to do all these things because of a loving Father in Heaven
Who feels like her life has purpose
Who wonders sometimes if she makes enough of a difference in the world
Who fears that in some ways she hasn’t
Who cares about all of mankind and helping them in any way she can to bring them back to God
Who dreams of an eternal home with her family around her

Day Twenty-Five
Day Twenty-Five-Credo Poem
I believe in the supernal goodness of humanity
The strive to do good
The service of others
The struggle to do what's right
The scramble to rise above
But I don't believe in sparing no effort on our goals
I believe in showing love to others
I believe in the strength to go the distance
I believe in self-worth for people of all walks of life
And I believe in seeking to be the good in the world

Day Twenty-Four
Day Twenty-Four-Diatelle Poem
Eat
Bacon
Sizzlin' in
My frying pan
Good smells fill my kitchen
Much tastier than Raisin Bran
Why do you call my name? I need a plan
How can I be good, when all I want is a treat
The only thing I'll say, I know I can
I can be strong and take a stand
I can see a new Zen
Be superman
To be thin
Again
Sweet

Day Twenty-Three
Day Twenty-Three-Tetractys Poem
Life
And love
Worth having
Sometimes losing
But always worth having to help us grow
Without love every day in our lives
We lose ourselves
We need love
Given
Now

Day Twenty-One
Day Twenty-One-Free Verse
To Sing
To sing a song of praise
Will always touch my heart
It fills my soul with love
And takes me back to Him
The One who saved my soul
From an abyss so dark
I'm thankful He loves me
And I want to let Him know
So I will sing His songs
As often as I can
That way He'll always know
I'm grateful for His Life.

Day Twenty
Day Twenty-Acrostic Poem
Dogs that love is
Always at our side
Couldn't be any sweeter
Happy to be loved
Silly when they want to be
Hear every sound outside
Unwavering loyalty
Never want to loose them
Down low to the ground
So glad we learned to love them.

Day Nineteen
Day Nineteen-Rhyme Royal Septet
Easter
Easter is the best season of the year
We worship our Savior and Lord of love
He gave us a beautiful gift so dear
We should all be thankful and mindful of
A precious gift from our Father above
He made it so we might forever live
We only need repent, others forgive.

Day Eighteen
Day Eighteen-Poem in my Pocket Day
I decided for today, to write a poem in one of the styles we already did, Richtameter.
Poems
Words of our souls
Help us see others lives
Give us a glimpse of eternal
Share our Father’s love for each of these souls
Teach us of His truths and wonders
Make us look at the world
And see ourselves

Day Sixteen-Windspark Poem
I dreamed
I was a soft bunny

Day Fourteen
Day Fourteen-Couplets
Here's a silly one:
I'm glad they invented tissue
For what our bodies issue.
Not so silly:
I'm glad that we have dogs
They bring us closer to God
Spiritual:
Our Heavenly Father gives us so much
Our talents can other lives touch
We can use our talents for good
Just as our Savior would
Our lives are so enriched
To our Lord we must be stitched.
Day Thirteen
Day Thirteen-Triplet
There’s something about the weather
That’s making me wonder if whether
The weather is crazy and *blether
(*talk in a long-winded way without making very much sense)

Making life

Day Ten
Day Ten-What if....I might Poem
What if I could control the weather
I might make it sunny every day
What if all worries were light as a feather
I could carry them wherever I may
What if I could make all lives better
I would get on my knees and pray
Is it really possible to have all of our dreams today?
Day Nine
Day Nine-Rictameter Poem
Grandkids
Love of my life
Give lots of love and hugs
Are so fun to have around me
Their joy makes my life content and happy
As a grandparent I can watch
Them grow into adults
They give meaning
Grandkids

Day Eight
Day Eight-Octopoem
My Twin and I
When we were little, I loved pink and she loved purple
The season we loved best was winter, because of Christmas and our Birthday
We grew up in Long Beach and loved it there
The sun was always shining
One year, our Easter dresses were pink and blue
We slept in twin beds in the same room
I remember watching Romper Room and Engineer Bill
One year, we baked a birthday cake for our brother that was lopsided and green

Day Seven
Day Seven-Senses Poem
Spring
I see our cat in the window
I smell flowers in the air
I hear birds chirping outside
I feel the sun's warmth on my skin
I taste fresh strawberries on my tongue
I love Spring
Or
Spring
Cat in the window
Flowers in the air
Birds chirping outside
Sun's warmth on my skin
Fresh strawberries on my tongue
I love Spring!
Then the other version
It looks like a beautiful Spring day
It smells like fresh mown grass
It sounds like nature's waking up
It feels like a warm cozy blanket
It tastes like strawberries in season.

Close to God
As we live our lives
Our one goal,
Heart's yearning
Is to truly be worthy
Of our Saviour's love.

Day one
Day One- 5 Ws Poem
Martha, a valiant warrior, a Daughter of God
A good friend, neighbor, and Breast Cancer Survivor.
She has now returned to her Heavenly Home,
This last Saturday while at her earthly home,
After Cancer came back with a vengence.
