Limerick for Magna

Here's another Limerick for Limerick Day

We live in the town of Magna
Which is not the same as Magma
It's a great place to live
There's lots of initiative
To be happy and live in Magna!

Day 30-anyway I want it Family History Poem

Day 30-Family History

I recently was given an album
Of photographs of the past
It's full of lovely photos
Of ancestors who were steadfast

There's men in topcoats and suits
And women in high style fashion
And babes wearing cute outfits
When their lives were full of passion

These photographs are amazing
The only problem is this
None of them are labeled
So, no names have come to us

My advice to all you people
Is to label all your pictures
So someone someday will know
Your name in all it's grandeur

Day 28-Poetweet

Whenever we create anything, I wonder how alike it is to God's creations. We come close whenever we create a child. We are His creations, and we are glorious.

Day 28-Poetweet

Whenever we create anything, I wonder how alike it is to God's creations. We come close whenever we create a child. We are His creations, and we are glorious.

Had to rewrite it. Too long.

When we create anything, we wonder how it mimics God's creations. We come closest when we create life. How glorious are His works. Creation.

Day 27- diatelle poem

Tell
A tale
Do not fail
Tell of your life
Or of a Dragon’s Tail
With his scales of purple Loosestrife
The sky is so dark, cut it with a knife
If the story's of you, there may have been a bell
To wake you up to play a rousing fife
To please someone’s husband or wife
As they take the fast rail
Happiness rife
Without fail
Ships sail
Dwell

Day 26-Rictameter Poem

Day 26-Rictameter Poem

Lucky
Missing Hanna
She wasn't her Autism
Her short life had a grand purpose
To teach and show us how to love others
We learned to be better from her
Her legacy is love
She lived, we love
Lucky

Day 25. Almost done.

Day 25-pensee poetry

Penguins
Cute and funny
Look like they're wearing a tux
Their waddling makes us giggle
Do they make a good pet?

Day 24-Limerick

There once was a girl named Vick
Who thought she could write a lim'rick
She tried and she tried
Yet she couldn't get it right
So she got quite a crick in her neck

Day 23-Quinzain Poem

I came up with a few.

Babysitting is so fun
They want to play games
All night long

The youngest generation
Is now so plugged in
Is it good?

Then in honor of Talk Like Shakespeare Day:

Grandchildren are passing fair
I prithee to believe
Bless'd are we

Day 22-Nature Color Poem

Day 23-Nature Color Poem

Nature is a rainbow Heavenly Father has given
Everywhere you look, it's like you are in heaven

He gave us yellow roses to brighten up our day
And blue skies above us in this, the latter-day

We also have green grass that provides us room to play
Our Heavenly Father loves us, earth his grand display.

Day 21- Poem in My Pocket

I have to preface this. I have a blog called Life in the Library, that until today, I hadn't really considered what that meant. Because of a friend's blog, I found an image I want to use on my blog of a circus. I haven't quite figured out how to use it yet, but it still made me consider writing a poem today on what that means to me.

Life in the Library

Working in a library is sometimes
Like being in the Circus
There's clowns who make you laugh
And wild animals who make you cringe
Then there's a high wire act
When a child screams unendingly
But the most beautiful part is
Like a knife thrower when
A child suddenly gets how wonderful
It is to be able to read!

Day 20-Grammar Poem

Dogs
Going in and going out
Driving us crazy
Treating us like doormen
I wish we had a revolving door

Day 19-Clerihew Poetry

This is a story about our grandson and dogs
It's a way to begin my monologue
We had fun watching them make a mess
As the little babe fed the four-footed rest!

Gives me wings of flight to my thoughts
Good books

One more

Another one I just wrote, while thinking of my Savior.

I know the Lord is there
He answers all my prayers
He's always shown He cares
He teaches me to share
His love can never err
I'll put my arm to the square
I strive to avoid Satan's snares
And end my life as His heir

Day 26

Day 26-monorhyme

Coming up with a poem that rhymes
Is all about the rhythm and time
And making it sound like a beautiful chime
As in "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme"

It really isn't such a great literary climb
To be able to rhyme in the daytime
But when it carries into your needed sleep time
It may have now become a bedtime crime!!

Day 15-Octopoem

Okay. I decided to have fun with this today.

Day15-Octopoem

My Octopoem Octopus

My friend like to change color a lot
He doesn't care what season it is
His home is down deep in the ocean
If it's stormy, he's not happy
He doesn't wear any clothes
His couch the kelp on the ocean floor
He'd love to watch Sponge-Bob, if he had a TV
He'll eat anything he can fit in his beak

Day 13-Nonet Poem

Day 13-Nonet Poem

We've dogs who are crazy in our house
For whatever reason, who knows?
They run around in circles
Until they are dizzy
Then plop on the ground
They make us laugh
And then sigh,
They're done!
Whew!

Day 12-Shardorama Poem

My poem for today.
There are books
That draw you right in
And some books
Turn you off
And then my favorite reads
Are ones that inspire.

Day 10-Acrostic Poem

Day 10-Acrostic Poem

So happy I have siblings
I love them every one
Because they are my family my
Life is fully blest
I'll use them as examples and
Never let them go
God gave me a good family
So glad that they're the best.

Day 9- fractured nursery rhyme

Here's the original:

A tisket, a tasket
A green and yellow basket
I wrote a letter to my love
And on the way I dropped it

I dropped it, I dropped it
And on the way I dropped it
A little boy picked it up
And put it in his pocket

And now mine:

A tisket, a tasket
A ball and then a basket
I put the ball up in the sky
And missed that silly basket

I missed it, I missed it
I missed that silly basket
Somebody else picked it up
And they didn't miss the basket!

Day 4 I am poem

Day 4
I am a happy loving child of God
I wonder if I show enough love to others
I hear my heart beating a staccato
I see my life when I'm done on earth
I want to be crowned with glory
I am a happy loving child of God

I pretend that I know what I'm doing
I feel Like I get better at it each day
I touch the hearts of others
I worry that they won't understand
I cry when I think of the heartache around me
I am a happy loving child of God

I understand my Heavenly Father loves me
I say I am all that he needs
I dream of His arms around me
I try to show love all around
I hope for a better tomorrow
I am a happy loving child of God

Day 3-Triplet

Listening to the prophet speak
Is something we should do this week
To get the answers that we seek

Saturday, April 02, 2016

Another one

I see the red roses blooming
I hear the birds chirping in the trees
I feel the warm sunshine on my face
I smell the new mown grass clippings
I taste the sweet berries from the vine.

Day 2-spring Senses Poem

Spring looks like green grass
Spring sounds like birds singing
Spring feels like warm sunshine
Spring smells like lawn clippings
Spring tastes like sweet berries
