Rainy Day

Day 30-Questad

Rainy Day
Playing drums on the roof
Sounding like a thousand people marching
And drums drumming down the driveway
Rat-a-tat. Rat-a-tat
The rain beats a staccato
Beating like a heart
Slowly changing rhythms as the storms moves away

Suicide.

Day 29-Wish Poem
Suicide

I wish I could help hurting despondent people understand
I wish they knew how much each soul is worth
I wish I could take away their pain
I wish they knew Christ did
I wish that they could see that their loved ones will hurt
I wish they could understand that there’s always a way out
I wish they knew that they are loved
I wish, I wish, I wish, they would choose to live.

To all the Heroes

Day 28-Hero Poem
We can all be a hero to ourselves
We can be a hero when we help another in any way
We can be a hero as we struggle through our trials, and we all have them
We can be a hero every day. Just a smile at people you meet
We can be a hero by helping others, which in turn helps us
We can be our own hero as we serve others and bless own own lives
So serve yourself be serving others
Be the hero in your own life

Poem in my Pocket

Day 26-Poem in My Pocket

I was at work at the Library yesterday and saw this book that intrigued me. WhileI was going through the book, a quote really rang true for me. That’s what I’m using today. The book is Staying Strong: 365 day’s a year” by Demi Lovato.

June 6
Don’t cry because it’s over;
Smile because it happened.
—-Dr. Seuss

There will be times when something good comes to and end. Instead of thinking about the fact that it’s over—stay positive that it happened in the first place. I was so sad to return home after spending time in Africa with my friends and family. We were all crying when it was time to go—no one wanted to leave such an amazing place. I can look back now, though, without crying. I’m so thankful for my time spent there with people I love, and I can’t wait to go back.

Goal: Think about a happy moment in your life and be grateful for the joy it gave you. Reflect on happy moments, even if they’ve passed.

Earth Day

Day 25-Free Verse

This Earth of ours is so wonderful
There’s so much to be thankful for
But we need to take a lot better care
Of this planet we call home
So let’s all do our part
To reuse, recycle, and reduce
Then our children and grandchildren
Can enjoy the beauties of Earth

What if...

Day 24-What if.....I might Poems

What if I lived to be one hundred years old?

I might actually see a flying car made of gold

What if people only showed love to others?

I could live in peace with my brothers

What if unicorns were real?

I would believe in Magic with zeal.

Tweeting

Day 23-Poetweet

Why are people so obsessive? Their nature makes them that way./ Some people obsess over celebrities, others over things we say./ We all need to find some balance, so we can be happy each day./ Our lives will not be lonely, if we choose to let others in,/ Everyone needs to play./

Practicality

Day 22- Pleiades Poem

Practicality

Please explain to me why there’s a
Plethora of words to describe things meaning
Plenty of other things to give a
Poem you’re writing
Pizzazz and keeping the reader on his toes
Puzzling out what the writer meant and
Piquing their interest?

Our Dogs

Day 20-Rictameter

                    Our Dogs
               Give us such joy
         They need companionship
We keep them safe and warm and fed
It is so hard to have to let them go
When their lives are shorter than ours
           We love them anyway
               We choose to love
                     Our Dogs

Utah in the Spring

Day 14~Senses Poem

Mountains are tall around me, stretching to the sky
Flowers are adding their scent to the air
Birds are chirping merrily from morning until night
Wind kisses my cheeks and make them rosy
Sweet berries, flavor bursting in my mouth
All of this makes me feel so happy to be alive

Scary Friday

Day 13-Hyperbole Poem

Friday the 13th is kind of scary
Lots of people believe so, even Fairies
The day can make you jump out of your skin
And that’s no joke if you’re kind of thin

So watch out for black cats and open ladders
Then you won’t run into any giant black adders
Don’t break any mirrors or seven years of bad luck
And you won’t win a gazillion bucks!!

Little Town Living

Day 12-The 5 Ws
The good people of Magna
Try so hard to look out for each other

Every day and every night
For other people doing things they shouldn’t be doing

This is Me

Day 11-Eleven Line Autobiographical Poem

Vicki
Loving, giving, thinking, living
Sibling of Dolly, David, Valerie, Jamie, Stephen, Karen, Kathy, Karleen, Kris, and Patty
Lover of Peter, music, art, nature, and family
Who feels a desire to live righteously
Who needs to make a difference
Who gives her heart fully and wholeheartedly
Who fears she isn’t doing enough
Who would like to see all people showing love to one another
A resident of Planet Earth

Day 10-Poem Generator.

Ode to the Darth Vader

A Sonnet by dragonshelver

My Darth Vader, you inspire me to write.
How I love the way you fights and marches,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the tall arches.

Let me compare you to a dark buffet?
You are more intent and more glowering.
Stark breeze flaps the angry dancers of May,
And the springtime has the all scouring.

How do I love you? Let me count the ways.
I love your black breathing, helmet and voice.
Thinking of your blue helmet fills my days.
My love for you is the towering joice.

Now I must away with a shangri heart,
Remember my long words whilst we're apart.

Read

Day 9-Nonet

When I was just a small child in school
I remember learning to read
Sometimes the rules were daunting
But it opened my eyes
Who would have guessed then
Where I would work
Libraries
Love them
Read!!

It’s Wet Outside

Day 8-Octopoem

The sky today is almost white it’s so overcast
It’s Spring, but it’s a gloomy day
Our life is here in Utah
It’s rainy off and on
I’ll need to wear a raincoat
As we go to sit on a pew
Later we’ll probably watch Little Big Shots
After we have spaghetti with our son and grandsons

Nature is God’s Palette

Day 4-Nature Color Poem

The colors of Nature are God’s palette
His use of each one so divinely wise
When I see a sunrise all gloriously colored
I’m reminded of a new baby’s eyes
They shine of His love for his children

And keep our hearts close to His side

Triplets

Day 3-triplets

Right now I have granddaughters three
They are so precious to me
They make my heart go yippee!

The rest of our ten are all boys
And they too give me great joy
For what would we do without boys!!

(I want to add a third stanza in keeping with”triplets”)

I love my grandkids each one
They are all so incredibly fun

They’re the best and second to none.

Easter Joy

Day 2-Couplet

Because of Easter Morn on April First
The flowers all around us did burst

They are all a part of God’s loving plan
To remind us of the Eternal nature of man

Our lives will be beautiful and reconciled
For we are His, every man, woman and child

His death on the cross was for each of us
We need to show gratitude or we will be lost

April Poetry This is Me

Yes, that’s me
Look and you’ll see
My hair may be grey now, but it’s still my crowning glory
My eyes are brand new and enjoying seeing clearly again the wonders of nature
My arms are full of strength and love for all I see
My hands don’t like being still when there’s so much to do
My heart is yearning for peace and love in the world
I’m happiest when my loved ones are near me
I never ever want to stop singing
My friends can depend on me
I live the best way I can
I hope I do enough
I dream of all my loved ones happy and joyful
It’s clear as can be
That’s positively, absolutely me!
